The national Likras Shabbos program was founded in Lakewood 16 years ago. This program was intended to help children enter Shabbos in a respectful and proper manner, by having them be all ready for Shabbos in time for the program which took place 30-45 minutes before Kabbalas Shabbos. The idea to have them learn Hilchos Shabbos by the shiur was to help them master these vast Halachos which not many have time to learn thoroughly.
